Flying with JSX will change the way you feel about flying. That may sounds a bit dramatic, but for me, it really is true. Plus I’m sure you are thinking that you can’t afford a luxury flight experience while traveling but I’d venture to guess that you can. I’ll share about costs and so much more. Listen in at the link above and check out the show notes below.

Why Our Family Loves JSX

  • JSX has created a hassle-free flying experience. They say that it’s 20 minutes from the curb to your seat and that really is true.

  • I’d recommend arriving around 30 minutes before your flight just in case you experience a delay when driving to the airport. You pull right up to the terminal building.

  • If you drive yourself, you will valet your car for $35. There are no self-parking options.

  • If you don’t want to valet, take a rideshare or ask a friend to drop you off. (Just like you do when you fly on other airlines.)

  • Walk into the JSX lobby and head to the check-in desk. Present your ID and get a boarding pass.

  • You can check in 2 included bags up to 50 pounds each.

  • There is space on the plane for 1 personal item per person that goes under the seat in front of you. Smaller roller bags will be checked.

  • No security checkpoints. Bags are swapped at check-in. You don’t need to basically undress and unpack bags to go through a security check.

  • There are only 30 seats on the plane which means that there aren’t many people in the lobby or who need to board the plane.

  • About 5 - 10 minutes before departure, everyone is invited to walk onto the tarmac, climb the stairs to the plane, and take their assigned seat. No boarding groups, long lines, or large amounts of time spent to board the plane.

  • Once you are on the plane, it’s time to take off! Since the plane is smaller and only seats 30 people, I feel like the liftoff is so smooth.

  • After you’ve reached 10,000 feet, the flight attendant will bring drinks and snacks. They offer traditional sodas and juices along with cocktails, beer, and wine. It’s all included. Plus the snacks are a definite upgrade from the typical bag of peanuts. We love the cheese straws and brownie brittle.

  • After you land, you drive to the small JSX terminal. No long taxi waits or waiting for another plane to leave your gate.

  • To deplane, you just walk down the stairs and right into the JSX lobby.

  • Your luggage is brought out within a couple of minutes and you are one your way.

  • You can rent a car from GoRentals right on site. I recommend reserving a car ahead of time. It will be ready and waiting for you upon arrival.

  • If you are returning how and parked your car with the valet, they will know you are coming and will have your car pulled out and ready to go.

  • The pricing is competitive when compared with bigger national airlines. For example, I compared a trip from Phoenix to San Diego on JSX and Southwest Airlines. The cost on JSX was $358 and the Southwest cost was $340.96. With a difference right around $17 in cost, there’s no question that I’d pick JSX. Plus, you can use my discount code 424DVA to take $20 off of your JSX flight, and then it’s even less than Southwest!

  • Your dog can fly with you! If you have a small dog who can fit in a pet carrier, he or she can fly for free and goes under the seat in front of you. If your dog is bigger and under 65 pounds, you can purchase a seat for your dog and he or she can ride on the floor of the plane at your feet. You can read more about the JSX pet policy here.

  • If you end up not being able to fly on your scheduled flight, you will receive a credit for what you paid to be used on a future flight.

Other Things to Consider When Flying on JSX

  • There are currently limited destination options. But they are always adding more airports to the itinerary so check back often.

  • For example, when flying out of Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, we can fly directly to San Diego, Burbank, Las Vegas, or Oakland/San Fransisco.

  • They usually offer two flight times per day for each flight leg.

  • If you have mobility issues, be aware that you will need to climb stairs to enter and exit the plane.

  • Renting cars through GoRental is more expensive that mainstream car rental places. The GoRental options are generally higher-end cars.

We flew on the inaugural flight from Phoenix to San Diego last week and they celebrated with cupcakes in the Phoenix lobby and little charcuterie boards to do in the San Diego lobby. I loved that personal touch that made the day feel special.

If you are looking for a stress-free way to fly, I highly suggest looking into flying with JSX. Our experiences have been amazing.
