What We Ate & How We Discovered Food in NYC
One of my favorite ways to explore a city is through its food! We’ve been lucky enough to visit NYC many times, and somehow, it never gets old. There is always a new restaurant, bakery, or hidden gem to discover. Here’s a look at some of our favorite food finds from our latest trip to the Big Apple!
Levain Bakery
This is a true NYC classic. There are few things I love more than a thick, warm, gooey cookie!
My favorite flavors are the Chocolate Chip Walnut and Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip. You really can’t go wrong with either one!
Magnolia Bakery
Nothing beats the banana pudding from Magnolia Bakery. It is SO delicious and absolutely worth a stop!
What else do I need to try from here? I feel like I’ve only scratched the surface!
Culture Espresso
The chocolate chip cookie here was EVERYTHING a cookie should be. It might honestly be the best cookie I’ve ever had!
We’ve only been home for a few days, and I’ve already made a copycat recipe because I couldn’t stop thinking about it!
Kung Fu Kitchen
This restaurant deserves 5/5 stars for their incredible soup dumplings! I actually liked the chicken soup dumplings here even more than Din Tai Fung.
Don’t miss the hand-pulled noodles either. They were delicious, and the ramen was fantastic as well!
Apollo Bagels
This bagel shop was simple, fresh, and delicious. Sometimes that’s all you need!
The bagel flavors include plain, sesame, and everything.
For cream cheese, you can choose from plain, scallion, or vegan.
The bagels are freshly boiled and baked, giving them that perfect chewy New York bagel texture. They were SO good!
Bagel Pub
This is a great option if you love a good breakfast sandwich. The ABC sandwich, with avocado, bacon, and cheddar, was fantastic on an everything bagel!
We also loved the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Simple, but so good!
Four Charles Prime Rib
This restaurant takes a little work to get into, but trust me, it is worth it!
We tried multiple times to make a reservation on Resy, but later learned that reservations are only available to people who have previously dined there and are on their list.
If you want to eat here, make sure to ask to be added to their list on Resy!
So, how do you actually get a table? You’ll want to arrive early and get in line before the restaurant opens.
We arrived at 10 AM for the 12 PM lunch opening and had four groups ahead of us.
The restaurant saves some tables for reservations and some for walk-ins.
We ended up getting on the list to come back for dinner at 4:15 PM.
This meal was absolutely to die for!
We ordered the sizzling shrimp, buttered bread, burger, prime rib, filet, and corn, and loved everything we tried.
You NEED to get the burger. It was the star of the show! We added bacon and a fried egg, and we all agreed that if we come back, we’re all ordering the burger again.
For dessert, we had the French silk pie and homemade strawberry ice cream. Both were incredible!
