Travel Solo

If you’ve never tried traveling solo, then this is certainly something that is worth giving a go. I seem to always travel with others but my sister has traveled solo and has really enjoyed it!

Solo travel is a great way to plunge yourself into the unknown and do something that you’ve never done before. There’s no one else to rely on and so it’s up to you to make all the necessary decisions in order to provide the best experience wherever you go.

There are trips that you can take where you’re part of a group of solo travelers and this might be a great way to introduce yourself to traveling alone for the most part. It also gives you the option to see others and make friends. Traveling solo is also something that’s a lot cheaper too than traveling in a group or with a partner or friend. You’re only paying for yourself, after all.

Go Rock Climbing

Rock climbing is a great way to explore the sights while also experiencing the thrill-inducing feelings of hanging off a rock. There are lots of rock climbing opportunities across the globe, whether you want to start off small with an indoor wall or to get out in the sticks and try some rock climbing that provides picturesque views at the top.

If you’re in the states, then the Red Rocks Nevada climbing guide is one to take a look at. This can be a great experience for those who want to try out rock climbing or for those that have experience already.

Try Skydiving

Ever had the impulse to just jump out of a plane? (I haven’t, but my husband and daughter have!) Maybe it’s not the first thing on everyone’s bucket list but it can often be one that’s on there somewhere down the list.

Skydiving is a great way to really test your fears, especially if you’re not a great one for heights. It’s one of the most exhilarating experiences out there and it’s offered in many places across the globe. Most notably the one in Dubai is worth a go if you’re ever in that area of the world. Even though it’s likely to be so much better in some locations, skydiving is still one of those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that will stay in your memory forever.

It’s important though that you approach a trusted skydiving company that’s highly reputable. At the end of the day, you’re putting your trust into the hands of strangers and very much your life too!

Rent A Car To Travel To Multiple Locations

For some adventures, they might include going to several different locations. Rather than just staying in one city or country, you might want to go elsewhere. Depending on the distance, it might include some flights but if it’s within a few hours, then hiring a car might be worthwhile.

Rental cars will be widely available wherever you go and it can be a great way to have some fun when you’re in another country and perhaps haven’t driven there before. It can certainly give you an insight into our cultures when it comes to driving.

A rental car doesn’t need to be expensive and it’s worth finding a car from a brand that you trust. Think about the size of the car needed to accommodate you and your party, depending on who goes with you. Make sure to get a good brief from the company on how to get around from place to place without much trouble. Consider the amount of money you’d need for the fuel too as most rental cars will expect you to fully refuel before handing it back over.

Be Spontaneous

Spontaneity is often a great thing to include in life because a lot of life can often be set or organized in a fashion that can make it a little repetitive. When it comes to your travel, think about keeping a loose itinerary in parts so that you can simply make a decision on the spot. This is going to make the vacation a lot more adventurous in parts because who knows what you’ll do?

Being spontaneous is going to be good for the soul, so try to do more of it where you can when traveling in general. It’s even better when you let the group you’re traveling with decide what you do next. Maybe let each person in the group lead the way one day on your vacation.

Book Lots Of Vacation Excursions

When on vacation, you may simply want to spend your time lazing about around the pool. If that’s the case, then you might not usually book any excursions while traveling. However, there are often a lot of specialized and unique experiences that can be organized by travel agents, hotel concierge services, or even a quick online search and booking. Be sure to take a look at what excursions are available when booking your trip with the provider and when you arrive at the hotel, where it’s applicable of course.

Not every vacation is going to include this option of booking excursions, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take a look yourself for something going on around the local area or beyond.

A few of our favorite excursions have been biking down a volcano in Maui, riding bikes through Salzburg on the Fraulein Maria Sound of Music Bike Tour, and zip lining in Costa Rica.

Learn Something New

Ever tried learning something that you would have not had the opportunity to do in your own country? Take full advantage of being able to learn something new while traveling. It could be a certain type of sport that’s not available to play or perhaps some extreme adrenaline opportunities that you’ve never thought to try before.

When we were in Rotorua, New Zealand, we learned that you can roll down a hill inside of a giant inflated Zorb ball. There will be unique opportunities like this when you visit new places.

Learning something new can be fantastic for your life experience and to get the most out of each and every vacation that you go on.

Try Camping

Camping is a great way to get outdoors and do something different from your usual accommodation choice. It might be a part of your trip where you camp, or it could be where you camp for the entirety of your vacation. There’s no right or wrong way of doing it and it’s always a good opportunity to try camping once in your life, even if you end up not enjoying it fully.

Make sure you’re doing your research on campsites and finding the right place to set up your tent, etc. Be sure to pack the best equipment too as otherwise, it will be a more uncomfortable experience.

Help Out The Locals

There are many ways to get more involved with the location you find yourself visiting. If you’re wanting to get a more fulfilling experience than you would typically get, why not help out the locals? There’s always something going on that you could probably help out with, regardless of whether you're local to that community or not. By putting yourself out there, you’re likely going to get a much warmer reception from the locals around that area. You can check out Just Serve for service opportunities throughout the United States.

Find A Local Guide For Unique Finds

And talking of locals, why not have a local guide to help you find those unique locations or spots that you wouldn’t have even considered without their guidance? It’s a great way to personalized look at the city or country that you’re visiting. A couple of services that offer local guide tours are Airbnb Experiences and Get Your Guide. Check them out to see if something is offered in your next vacation destination.

I hope these tips will help make your next vacation an adventurous one!
