There are so many amazing places to see around Paris. It’s hard to narrow it down to the best ones! I want to share 5 day trips that I’ve been on that I know you will love!

1. Disneyland Paris

My family and I are big Disney fans, so we were super excited about going to Disneyland in Paris! It was so magical and so much fun! I loved it even more than I thought I would. We use Disney Transfers to get a ride from the airport.

My recommendation is to NOT stay on-site at Disney. There is a train station right by the entrance where you can store your bags (if needed) and you can easily take a train to a cheaper hotel at the end of your day.

However, I will mention that we had visited Paris a few times prior to this trip, so we were looking to branch out from the main attractions. If it were my first time going to Paris, I would probably spend my time elsewhere.

2. Versailles

I would consider Versailles a day trip because it takes a bit more effort to get to. We met our group at a train station and rode together to Versailles. Upon arrival, we went to a farmer's market and roamed the grounds for a while.

We decided to rent bikes for our tour of Versailles! This place is amazing!

3. Giverny Gardens

This is where Monet lived and where he got his inspiration for his water lily paintings! I would recommend signing up for a tour for a couple of reasons. First, the train doesn’t take you straight to Giverny. Also, it’s nice to have someone to show you around! This day trip, with driving and exploring, could be a half-day trip.

My next two suggestions are in Normandy! Normandy is about a 3 hour drive or train ride from Paris. We decided to stay in the city Bayeux for a few nights which is nearby. However, you can also take a train ride or tour there and back in one day.

4. D-Day Beaches

We decided to hire a private guide, Malcolm, to take us around the D-Day site for the day. He was amazing and taught us so much about history and told us so many great stories. You can take tours from the American or European perspective. You can do big or small group tours.

5. Mont Saint-Michel

This is the third most visited place in France! It is amazing!!! Mont Saint-Michel is a beautiful monastery built into a small island. We decided to take a tour with a small group and guide. We looked around the town and then toured the church. If you have smaller kids, this might not be the best place to visit, as it is a very long day.
