7 Fun Things to do on a Return Trip to Paris

Looking for things to do in Paris that are off-the-beaten-path from the typical tourist destinations? Here are a few tips for making Paris even more special!

Paris is my favorite city in the world! We have been lucky enough to return back to this city many times, and I’m excited to share some of my favorite lesser known spots around Paris!

Get Hot Chocolate from The Hotel Plaza Athenee

  • Parisian hot chocolate is unlike any other hot chocolate I’ve ever tried! We usually love to get it from Angelina’s, but this time we decided to try it from the hotel we were staying at.

  • You don’t have to be a guest at Hotel Plaza Athenee to go to their restaurant. Anyone can walk in! I highly recommend stopping by for hot chocolate and staying for afternoon tea if you’re interested!

  • Be aware that you’ll  need to order whipped cream separately if you want it.

  • Whike you’re here, also stop and try my favorite Parisian snack! It sounds simple, but you MUST try a baguette with French salted butter!

    • This isn’t your typical bread and butter. It tastes so amazing and you won’t be able to get enough!

Go to the French Open

  • Whether or not you’re a tennis fan, the French Open is a super fun experience! We love going to sporting events, and this one did not disappoint.

  • Be sure to look up the dates (in June) and see if they overlap with your stay!

Into the Light Art Exhibit

  • This special art exhibit was such a special treat! I found out about it through an Instagram post.

    • TRAVEL TIP: Create a saved posts folder on Instagram for each city you want to visit! This helps you keep track of all the cool places you want to visit, and helps you not forget activities that you see on social media.

  • We booked this ahead of time and purchased tickets online.

  • Although the Into the Light exhibit probably won’t be there much longer, I recommend looking up which art exhibits are in town during your visit.

Set aside time to wander

  • Paris has so much to offer, so be sure to allow yourself enough free time to explore.

  • Take time to roam the streets. Stop into patisseries and boutiques, you won’t be disappointed! Soak in the magic of Paris!

  • One of my favorite shops I recently found is Merci Paris!

Attend a local concert

  • While visiting Paris, we recently went to some really fun DJ shows!

  • I recommend looking up the month/year that you will be visiting Paris and see what artists will be performing! Live music is always so fun!

Eat delicious food

  • We recently tried Le Souffle for the first time! The restaurant isn’t very big, so I recommend making a reservation if you can. This is a classic French restaurant and it was delicious! We loved everything that we tried.

  • L'as du Fallafel is a restaurant that we have returned to many times. This place has great Mediterranean food. You can order to-go from a window or you can sit down. The hummus is absolutely amazing!

Visit the Dior Museum

  • We have not gotten to do this one yet, but it’s on our list!

  • Learn about the history of Dior and see original sketches and designs.

  • This looks like such a cool place to visit and see how the products have changed over time!
