3 Easy Steps to Get COVID Clearance into Hawaii

  1. Sign up for an account at the Hawaii Travel Website. Enter your flight information.

  2. Schedule and take a COVID test from one of Hawaii’s trusted testing partners. You need to take the test within 72 hours of your flight departure. We used Walgreen’s FREE testing option. They open up appointment slots three days ahead of the testing day. At your appointment time, go to the drive-thru window where you pick up prescriptions to take the test. Results will be emailed to you within a few hours.

  3. Get your QR code that will be used for entry into Hawaii. When your COVID test results arrive via email, download the pdf and go back to the Hawaii Travel Website. Upload your test results. When you are within 24 hours of your flight departure, fill out the health questionnaire on the Hawaii Travel Website to indicated that you are not having any COVID symptoms. After uploading your test results and filling out the health questionnaire, you will be emailed a QR code. Screenshot the code for easy access.

Other TIps to Make Visiting Hawaii a Breeze

  • Plan on wearing a mask in the airport, on the flight, and in most stores and restaurants in Hawaii.

  • Children ages 5+ need to get a COVID test prior to going to Hawaii. If you will be traveling with children, enter them on your account at the Hawaii Travel Website. They do not need their own account.

  • As not right now, receiving the COVID vaccine does not let you skip the COVID test. I have read that this will change in the future.

This information is all based on our experience traveling to Honolulu in March 2021. Be sure to check the Hawaii Travel Website to find out if anything has been changed or updated.
